The English EFL League One is the third division of the English football league system. Officially known as English Football League One, the English EFL League One for short, or the Sky League One, thanks to the sponsorship of Sky Sports, it was founded in 2004 as the third-tier national English football league under the umbrella of The Football Association. After the radical restructuring that ended with the creation of the independent English Premier League to replace the Football League First Division as the top league in the country, the arrangement included the displacement of the EPL Championship to the second tier and the creation of the English EFL League One as the third tier of the English Football System.

English EFL League One teams participate in other national events, like the Football Association Cup or FA Cup and the English Football League Cup or EFL Cup, also known as the Carabao Cup, through which they have potential access to continental competitions, like the UEFA Champions League in case of winning the FA Cup, or the UEFA Conference League in case of winning the EFL Cup.

What is the English EFL League One?

The English EFL League One became the country's third-tier league after the top clubs broke away from the FA and launched the English Premier League in 1992 in an effort to tackle the problems that were crippling English Football in the 1980s and increasing their control over sponsorships and television rights, boosting their income, with the EFL Championship adopting the role of the second tier and the English EFL League One as the third tier in English Football.

The English EFL League One counts with 24 participating clubs each season, which is played between the months of August and May, with a round-robin format in which each club plays against each other twice, at home and away, for 46 matches, with the usual three points per win, one point per draw, and no points per loss. All teams are ranked by points, and in case of a tie in points, by goal difference, goals scored, the head-to-head score between tied teams, and goals scored away in the matchup. In case of a persisting ties that would define promotion or relegation positions, a playoff match would be arranged to decide as a tie-breaker.

The English EFL League One includes relegation and promotion mechanisms, in which, after every season, the top three teams are promoted. Conversely, the bottom four teams in the table are relegated to EFL League Two and replaced with the top four teams from this fourth-tier competition. This relegation system gives the English Football System an excellent level of competitiveness, with high stakes at the top and bottom.

How to Bet on the English EFL League One

BetPhoenix.ag not only offers you the best English EFL League One Odds, but we also provide you with many helpful tools, like this English EFL League One odds guide, to introduce you to the numerous moneymaking opportunities available when betting on the English EFL League One betting lines, helping you improve your chances of winning.

English EFL League One Point Spread

The English EFL League One Point Spreads bets, similarly to other major sports like football, basketball, and baseball, are based on a handicapped margin of victory established on a projected game result. If an English EFL League One betting lines show a point spread of 1.5 for an upcoming game, the favorite team (-1.5) must win by at least two goals for your bet to be a winner, while betting on the underdog (+1.5) can lose by one goal, tie the game or win outright for your bet to be a win. The .5 fraction is used to avoid a push in the wagers.

This is an example of a English EFL League One Point Spread, as you would find it listed in BetPhoenix:

Team - Points Spread Odds

Derby County -1.5

Bolton Wanderers +1.5

In this case, the -1.5 points spread indicates that Derby County is the favorite to win by a margin of two goals against Bolton Wanderers. Conversely, Bolton Wanderers is the underdog and can lose by a margin of less than two goals. These are the likely results of this bet:

· Derby County wins by two or more goals: Derby County bettors win.

· Derby County wins by one goal: Bolton Wanderers bettors win.

· The game is a draw/tie: Bolton Wanderers bettors win.

· Bolton Wanderers wins the game: Bolton Wanderers bettors win.

English EFL League One Moneyline

English EFL League One Moneyline is always the most straightforward betting option. Your pick reflects who you expect to be the outright winner of the game. A negative odds value indicates the favorite, while a positive value indicates an underdog. English EFL League One Moneyline uses a $100 base American odds system, in which larger numbers indicate a stronger favorite or weaker underdog.

The two-way English EFL League One Moneyline, in which the English EFL League One betting lines are focused on either one of the two sides winning, removing the impact of a tie or draw, in which case the bet would be a push. There is also a three-way English EFL League One Moneyline, in which the English EFL League One betting lines offer odds values for the home team winning, the visitor team winning, or the match ending in a draw or tie.

This is an example of a Two-Way English EFL League One Moneyline, as you would find it listed in BetPhoenix:

Team - Moneyline

Derby County -150

Bolton Wanderers +140

In this case, if you bet to win $100 on Derby County -150, as favorites, you would need to risk $150, while betting $100 on Bolton Wanderers +140 as an underdog, you would receive $140 if Bolton Wanderers wins the game. If the match ends in a tie, the wager would be a push, which means the bet is voided and refunded.

This is an example of a Three-Way English EFL League One Moneyline, as you would find it listed in BetPhoenix:

Team - Moneyline

Derby County -190

Draw +220

Bolton Wanderers +175

In this case, if you bet to win $100 on Derby County -190 as favorites, you would need to risk $190. Betting $100 on the draw +220, you would receive $220 if the game ends in a tie. And betting $100 on Bolton Wanderers +175 as an underdog, you would receive $175 if Bolton Wanderers wins the game.

At Betphoenix, our English EFL League One odds will give you the best available Moneyline prices and the tightest point spread odds offered by any sportsbooks.

English EFL League One Over/Under Totals

The English EFL League One Totals bet is based on a projected final score that includes both teams, independently on which side wins. English EFL League One Totals are represented in an Over/Under set, where you can pick if you expect this result to be over or under this estimated line.

This is an example of a English EFL League One Over/Under Totals as you would find it listed in BetPhoenix:

English EFL League One Totals – Derby County vs. Bolton Wanderers

Total: 2.5

Over odds: -120

Under odds: +130

In this case, the English EFL League One Over/Under of 2.5 means that if the match ends with a combined score of three or more goals, the Over wins; if the total score is two or less, the Under wins. If you bet to win $100 on the Over -120, you would need to risk $120 and win if the game ends with 3 goals or more. Betting $100 on the Under +130, you would receive $130 if the game ends with 2 goals or less.

However, all selected English EFL League One betting lines must win for the parlay wager to win. You can combine point spreads, moneylines, over/under totals, and other wagers. You can also combine favorites and underdogs. The more bets you add to your English EFL League One parlay, the odds multiply accordingly in your favor.

Using the example, a two-line English EFL League One Parlay could be as follows:

Derby County vs. Bolton Wanderers Total: Over 2.5 -120
