  • Betting Line: Bengals -7
  • Total: 44.5

Bet on the Dolphins

Though the Dolphins won their last game, against the Cleveland Browns, they struggled in a major way and had to take things into overtime. Considering the Browns were starting a rookie quarterback and were playing on the road, Miami doesn’t have anything to boast about the win.

Quarterback Ryan Tannehill had a decent performance on paper, completing 64% of his passes for 319 yards, three touchdowns and two picks but was sluggish in general. However, things might change against the Bengals that showed major weaknesses against the pass in their game against the Denver Broncos, allowing Trevor Siemian 312 passing yards and four touchdowns. The Dolphins can certainly capitalize on this via the air attack with Tannehill and wide receivers Kenny Still and DeVante Parker.

As for the Dolphins’ defense, they have plenty of adjustments to make before this game. Though they had a great start in their season-opener against the Seattle Seahawks, they’re since allowing an average of 446  total yards over the past two games.

Bet on the Bengals

The Bengals performance this year is a far cry from that of last year’s that ended with a promising 12-4 record. Though it’s true they’ve been pitted against tough competition, their most recent loss at home against the Denver Broncos showed how sluggish this team is playing right now.

However, the good news is that Cincinnati’s offense will benefit from the experience gained of playing tough defensive teams in the Jets, Steelers, and Broncos which are far better than that of the Dolphins’. If they manage to kick the running game into gear, with Jeremy Hill leading the way, the Bengals could win this game (Miami’s run defense has allowed over 160 rushing yards in their last two games). Hill acquired 97 yards on 17 carried with two touchdowns in the game against Denver.

Quarterback Andy Dalton can also turn to the air attack with wide receiver A.J. Green to exploit a relatively weak Dolphins’ secondary. Back in week 1, Green managed to stick the Jets with 180 yards on 12 catches.
