NFL Betting and Predictions: Atlanta Falcons vs Carolina Panthers

The Saints gave it all they had, however it wasn’t enough to defeat the powerful Carolina Panthers who extended their record to 16 wins in a row. They now get ready to host the Atlanta Falcons, who will try to rain on Carolina’s parade and snap a five-game losing streak of their own.

  • When: Sunday, December 13, 2015 1:00 PM ET
  • Where: Bank of America Stadium

Carolina Analysis

The Saints held on to hope, though their prayers were unanswered after being defeated by the Panthers 41-38 last Sunday in a harrowing game for football betting fans.

With the win, the Panthers are still two games ahead of the Arizona Cardinals for the lead in the NFC South. Led by an inspired Cam Newton, who marshaled the offense with 331 yards and five touchdowns which included the game-winning score with just over a minute left in the game.

Though at times playing sloppily, the Panthers are well-poised to do away with the ailing Falcons. Carolina’s passing game is led by Greg Olsen and Ted Ginn Jr., who have combined for 1,442 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns. On the ground, Carolina averages 141.9 yards per game, led by back Jonathan Stewart who has acquired 914 yards and five scores.

Carolina’s defense should not have too much trouble stopping Atlanta’s attack, which has steadily declined in performance, losing six of their last seven games after beginning the season 5-0.

Atlanta Analysis

Just recently, the Falcons lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 23-19, unable to convert in the red zone, where they were stopped 2 out of 3 times in that game.

The Falcons’ offense needs to step up their game, if they want to snap the five-game losing slump they are in. Quarterback Matt Ryan needs to produce a lot more than the 269 yards he acquired in their game against the Bucs, while Julio Jones needs to catch more than the eight passes for 93 yards that he got also in that game. Though being the league’s leading receiver, with 102 catches for 1,338 yards in 12 games this season, Jones must find a way to escape the stingy Carolina secondary that is only allowing 223.8 yards per game, ranked at the fifth position in the league.

Falcons vs Panthers Predictions: The Falcons are dropping like a stone in water. Though they will try to slow down the Panthers’ attack, they will lose against a fired-up Cam Newton playing at home.
