You are here

Now that the NFL season is over, it’s about high time you get into NBA betting action that’s in full swing. I’ve got three games for your betting consideration: can the Los Angeles Lakers beat the New York Knicks on their home court? Will the Brooklyn Nets upset the Charlotte Hornets? And, can the Memphis Grizzlies shock the San Antonio Spurs? Keep reading to find out.

Three Games To Bet On NBA Action

Los Angeles Lakers vs New York Knicks
When: Monday, February 06, 2017 7:00 PM ET
Where: John Paul Jones Arena
TV: ESPN

Analysis: Neither of these teams are having any luck in turning the tide to their favor. The Lakers are in the midst of a 12-game losing streak, while the Knicks can’t seem to string together any consistent wins. Nevertheless, New York is the 5-point home favorite and should be able to keep the Lakers in check. Carmelo Anthony is averaging just about 23 points per game and though they’ll be missing big man Joakim Noah due to a hamstring injury, they should have enough manpower with Kyle O’Quinn and rookie Willy Hernangomez.

Pick: Take the Knicks ATS, they’ll win and cover.

Brooklyn Nets vs Charlotte Hornets
When: Tuesday, February 07, 2017 7:00 PM ET
Where: Spectrum Center
TV:

Analysis: The Nets are in the shit hole and can’t get anything going with a 9-game losing streak, the latest at the hands of the Toronto Raptors on Sunday, 103-95. Raptors’ point guard, Kyle Lowry tore through the Nets, scoring a triple double of 15 points, 11 assists and 11 rebounds. Though Charlotte are themselves struggling and on a seven-game losing streak, they’ve fared well against Brooklyn, winning six of their last seven games vs the Nets. In their last match, the Hornets beat the Brooklyn 112-105. Kemba Walker should be able to crack through Brooklyn’s defenses; Walker is averaging 20 points, 4.7 boards and 4 assists over the span of three games this season vs the Nets.

Pick: Take Charlotte to win SU.

San Antonio Spurs vs Memphis Grizzlies
When: Monday, February 06, 2017 9:30 PM ET
Where: FedExForum
TV: TNT

Analysis: Though Golden State is getting most of the deserved attention as the best team in the Western Conference, San Antonio is on their coattails. The Spurs are a well balanced teams on both sides of the court, with a great defense that’s only giving up 98 points per game (second in the NBA) and rank second, third and fourth against opponents versus the three point, two point, and overall shooting percentage. The Grizzlies are also a great team right behind SA on defense but what kills it for them is their offense which quite frankly sucks.

Pick: Memphis is the 2.5-point underdog, though I believe San Antonio wins, it’ll be the Grizzlies that cover. Bet Memphis plus the points.
