Betting on the Penguins?

After leading the series 3-1, the Penguins have imploded and now head to a decisive seventh game behind the eight ball. And, having lost Game 6 at home, means that they’ll have to attempt a win on the Caps’ ice which might prove to be difficult.

The Penguins have been out-shot throughout this series including the last game where the Capitals took 26 shots versus the Pen’s 18. Pittsburgh has struggled to make it past their own zone despite the changes they’ve made to make it past the blue line.

However, Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin have a fair shot at performing well in Game 7 while on the road as the Pens are 5-0 while away in all Game 7s they’ve played

Betting on the Capitals?

Washington has shown grit in pushing this series to a final game 7. This despite the decision to move Alex Ovechkin’s to the third line after trailing 3-1 in the series.

Ovechkin’s move paid off, it allowed the Caps to play all three lines relatively equally and gave them an advantage against the Penguins lines, that were thinned due to injuries. And, perhaps more importantly, it lit a fire in the team’s belly that’s taken them to this critical game.

Case in point, Andre Burakovsky has now scored three goals and four points over his last two games, including two unassisted goals in the last game.

Whether or not it’ll make a difference in this last game will be evident tonight. But, at least, it’s given Washington a shot at finally making it to the Conference finals.

Pittsburgh is 9-3 ATS in its last 12 games
Pittsburgh is 2-4 SU in its last 6 games when playing on the road against Washington
Washington is 1-6 ATS in its last 7 games at home
The total has gone UNDER in 7 of Washington's last 10 games at home

Game Pick: The Capitals pull out all the stops and win.

  • What: Edmonton Oilers vs Anaheim Ducks
  • When: Wednesday, May 10, 2017, 7:30 PM ET
Where: Verizon Center – Washington, D.C.
Moneyline: Rangers -171 vs Senators +154
    Over/Under: 5

Betting on the Oilers?

The Oilers were not to be denied and clawed their way to getting another shot at passing through to the Conference finals by winning Game 6, 7-1.

This was an inspired Edmonton team that saw everyone adding their own to win the game. Except for Connor McDavid, most other players were in the zone in Game 6 including Leon Draisaitl who gained a hat trick along with two assists and Mark Letestu who scored one less goal than Draisaitl.

Goalie Cam Talbot also held fast, stopping 34 of Anaheim’s 35 shots. However, Talbot will need much more help from the defense to dampen Anaheim’s shooting. However, Andrej Sekera and Oscar Klefbom are probable to play in this game which leaves Eric Gryba and Griffin Reinhart to put up the fight.

Betting on the Ducks?

Anaheim once more faces the harrowing experience of a deciding seventh game in the NHL playoffs. Historically, the Ducks have fallen flat on their faces in game 7s and lost all four games they’ve played in this situation (all at home not the least).

Captain Ryan Getzlaf needs to step up and lead his team to victory. Though he’s been solid in this series, scoring three goals and racking up six assists in the two games before last Sunday’s match, he nevertheless failed to score in Game 6.

The duo of Getzlaf and Corey Perry will have a pivotal role in this last game. Between the two, they have 16 game 7s under their belts and they’ll be called to give this team the certainty they need to finally make it through.

Edmonton is 18-7 SU in its last 25 games
Edmonton is 4-2 ATS in its last 6 games when playing Anaheim
Anaheim is 0-5 ATS in its last 5 games at home
The total has gone OVER in 5 of Anaheim's last 6 games when playing Edmonton

Game Prediction: It’s due or die for both teams, but it’ll be the Anaheim Ducks that win.
