Mets Analysis
The Mets have underperformed for most of the season thanks in part to injuries to players like Noah Syndergaard and Yoenis Cespedes, who have both missed significant time this season. Cespedes returned to the lineup last week, but Syndergaard still has a month to go before he can start throwing the ball.
Without both of their All-Stars, the Mets have had trouble winning on a consistent basis and find themselves 10.5 games behind the Washington Nationals in the NL East. The team missed a golden opportunity to make up some ground against the Nationals, losing three out of four games to their division rivals in their previous series.
The Mets came in as heavy underdogs against the Dodgers, but almost pulled off an upset win against Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw, whom they hit four home runs off on Monday night. The team will be hoping their bats remain hot against a stingy Dodgers rotation.

The Mets will send Tyler Pill to the mound against the Dodgers. Pill has only pitched in four games this season, starting two of them. He has a 0-2 record and a 3.75 ERA.

The Dodgers are one of the hottest teams in baseball right now, and have won 10 of their last 11 games. The team survived a scare against the Mets in the first game of the series, but were able to pull away for a 10-6 victory on Monday.
Despite their hot streak, the Dodgers still find themselves half a game behind the NL West leading Colorado Rockies and will be trying to regain the division lead with a victory over the Mets.
Los Angeles has been able to keep pace with their division rivals thanks to their pitching rotation, which has allowed the fewest runs and lead the league with a 3.42 ERA. However, the team still has a lot of improvement to make, especially the batters, who despite having the 6th most runs in the league, have the 13th best batting average.
A win on Wednesday will give the Dodgers their fourth consecutive series win and extra confidence ahead of their division clash with the Colorado Rockies this weekend.
