San Diego Fleet (2-1) at Memphis Express (0-3)

  • Spread: Fleet -6 (+115)
  • Over/Under: 40

Analysis: The Express has improved in the last two weeks and solved a few problems on the defensive side of things. Memphis coach Mike Singletary also decided to bench Christian Hackenberg in favor of Zach Mettenberger at the quarterback position.

However, it’s the Fleet that has taken care of business and won games. Behind a solid running offense and a great defense, the Fleet seem determined to continue their success.

Pick: Fleet

Orlando Apollos (3-0) at Salt Lake Stallions (1-2)

  • Spread: -4
  • Over/Under: 41

Analysis: The Apollos are arguably the top team in the league at the moment. But, they’re about to be tested by the Stallions. Salt Lake is coming off a win over the then-undefeated Arizona Hotshots, and they could use the motivation to extend their win streak.

Are the Apollos good enough to stop the Stallions cold? They are, and I don’t expect an upset.

Pick: Apollos

San Antonio Commanders (1-2) at Birmingham Iron (3-0)

  • Spread: Iron -7.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 36.5

Analysis: The Commanders are going through a rough patch of two straight losses. Mainly, San Antonio doesn’t seem to have found their man at the quarterback position. After going with backup Marquise Williams late last game, there’s still no word on who will start this week.

The problem is the Commanders face one of the best defenses in the league. Though the Iron doesn’t score too many points, they kept opponents at just seven points per game this season.

Pick: Iron

Atlanta Legends (0-3) at Arizona Hotshots (2-1)

  • Spread: -14 (-115)
  • Over/Under: 40.5

Analysis: It doesn’t seem logical that this game will be difficult for the Hotshots to win. Arizona faces probably the worst teams in the league. But the Hotshots might be in trouble if injuries to key players end up costing the game.

Hotshot QB John Wolford’s back injury should be of particular concern because his backup, Trevor Knight, isn’t as good.

Prediction: Hotshots
