Odds To Win The 2019 World Series
Boston Red Sox
Will Boston repeat? There’s no reason not to believe the Red Sox can’t win the World Series championship again. After all, the Sox have one of the best starting rotations in baseball and have a proportionate share of young blood and grizzled vets.
There is an open question, however, on who will head to the mound in the ninth inning. The fact is, it’s not for sure that Craig Kimbrel will be on the roster this year as he’s a free agent and still doesn’t have a job, yet.
In any case, the Sox opened at +700 on the day they won the crown last year to +600 in Week 1 of the preseason.
Washington Nationals
Back in October, the Nationals sat at +1800. A number that moved to +1000 at the beginning of this year that is, until Harper went to the Phillies upon which the moneyline shifted to +1500.
Washington was very active though in the offseason, bringing on Patrick Corbin from Arizona, Anibal Sanchez from Atlanta, and Matt Adams from St. Louis, so things may play out favorably for them in the end.
Philadelphia Phillies
Meanwhile, the team that signed Harper to its ranks jumped from +1200 to +750 in a heartbeat. A buck gets ten that this number won’t stay put for long as betting money pours in.
Cleveland Indians
The Indians are in the selling market, and they’ve already let go of Edwin Encarnacion and Yonder Alonso. The word back in February was that Cleveland wanted to sell off star pitcher Corey Kluber, but the rumors died down, and the two-time Cy Young Award winner should be in Cleveland for at least another season. The Indians now sit at +1200 to win the World Series.
Here’s the most current table of the 2019 World Series Odds for the top ten teams as it now stands:
Team | Opening Odds | Current Odds |
---|---|---|
Boston Red Sox | +700 | +600 |
New York Yankees | +800 | +600 |
Houston Astros | +700 | +800 |
Los Angeles Dodgers | +800 | +800 |
Philadelphia Phillies | +2000 | +750 |
Chicago Cubs | +900 | +1400 |
St. Louis Cardinals | +1800 | +1400 |
Cleveland Indians | +1200 | +1200 |
Milwaukee Brewers | +1400 | +1800 |
Atlanta Braves | +1400 | +2000 |
