But, what matters for this game is the fact the Celtics are facing one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA. Opposing teams are averaging 120.9 points per game against the Wizards, so Boston will be like kids in a candy store picking up free buckets.
Even while star Kemba Walker won’t play tonight, the trio of Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Gordon Hayward should be able to take of business. Tatum has averaged 21.3 points, seven boards, and 2.8 points per game through 33 appearances this season.

Amazingly, the Wizards picked up a win over the Nuggets last weekend. That Washington won despite the absence of their best player, Bradley Beal, might make you think they’re showing signs they’re improving.
However, the Wizards have struggled all season long, and if not for the 92 points scored off the bench, they would’ve lost against the Nuggets. Washington gets an A for their effort against Denver, but that’s about it.
It would be surprising, though, to get another performance from the bench as in the Nuggets game, but if Ish Smith, Troy Brown Jr., Anzejs Pasecnicks, and Isaac Bonga step up again, they could give the Celtics a run for their money.
