Why Should You Bet on the Tennessee Titans?

The Titans are living up to their name by having gotten so far into the playoffs. Tennessee left New England and Baltimore eating their dust as road dogs and found their way to the conference championship for the first time since 2002.

Kansas City is a big home favorite, but it’s the Titans that have won seven of the last ten games between the two and are a tough-as-nails opponent. Tennessee had also pulled off an upset over the Chiefs back in Week 10 when they scored a go-ahead touchdown with less than 30 seconds on the clock to end the game 35-32.

Last weekend, the Titans shut down the Ravens. Granted, Baltimore was a hobbled team without running back Mark Ingram, but they were effective in keeping quarterback Lamar Jackson at bay.

I don’t believe the Titans can slow down Patrick Mahomes as they did to Jackson, but if Tennessee can eat up the clock via the ground game with Derrick Henry leading the way, they might keep the score in check.

Why Should You Bet on the Kansas City Chiefs?

It was Patrick Mahomes’ first game back from injury when the Chiefs lost in Week 10. Even so, Mahomes passed for 446 yards and three touchdowns in that game. The star quarterback is now healthy, and he’ll undoubtedly want payback this time around.

Last week, Mahomes proved he’s one of the league’s elite quarterbacks when he helped his team overcome an early 24-point deficit versus the Texans, throwing five touchdowns to led a comeback 51-31 win.

All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce and Damien Williams combined for six of the Chefs’ seven touchdowns against Houston, scoring three apiece. It was Kelce’s best performance of the season; Kelce’s matchup favors the Chiefs, as opposing tight ends have averaged five receptions for 57 yards and a touchdown per game against Tennessee this season.

Betting Trends:

  • Tennessee is 7-2 ATS in their last nine games.
  • The total has gone OVER in 9 of Tennessee's last 12 games.
  • Tennessee is 7-2 SU in their last nine games.
  • Kansas City is 7-0 ATS in their last seven games.
  • The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Kansas City's last seven games.
  • Kansas City is 7-0 SU in their last seven games.

Prediction: The Titans will give the Chiefs a run for their money. Tennessee will stick to what’s worked for them and run the ball as much as they can to eat up the clock. Kansas City will win, but they won’t cover, which is why I’m picking the Titans plus the points.

Pick: Titans +7
