Alabama at South Carolina 2019

BetPhoenix Top Three Week 3 College Football ATS Picks

Week 3 of college football is hot to trot with a ton of games on the board to pick. Here are our top three Week 3 ATS picks.

Clemson at Syracuse

  • When: September 14, 2019, 7:30 PM ET
  • Where: Carrier Dome
  • College Football Lines:  Clemson -27.5
  • Over/Under: 58.5
  • Opening Moneyline: Clemson -2500 vs. Syracuse +950

Analysis: After getting the shit end of one of the worst beatings in Week 2, to add salt to the wound the Orange get to host Clemson. It’s all gone south for the Orange.

The line opened at +17, but seeing how the Orange played against Maryland and considering they’re playing the national champions, it’s quickly ballooned to -27.5.

The Tigers made winning over the Aggies look relatively easy despite Trevor Lawrence not playing at his best. Lawrence has yet to hit his stride, but it’s only a matter of time before he kicks into gear, and this game might be the one that sees him take off.

Meanwhile, the Orange were trounced by the Terrapins, allowing them to score 42 first-half points and turning it into the worst loss by a ranked team against an unranked team in 20 years.

Betting Trends

  • Clemson is 4-1 ATS in their last five games.
  • Clemson is 10-0 SU in their last ten games.
  • Syracuse is 6-2 ATS in their last eight games.
  • Syracuse is 7-2 SU in their last nine games.

Pick: Syracuse +27.5

Oklahoma at UCLA

  • When September 14, 2019, 8:00 PM ET
  • Where: Rose Bowl
  • College Football Lines: Oklahoma -23.5
  • Over/Under: 72
  • Opening Moneyline: Oklahoma -670 vs. UCLA +425

Analysis: It doesn’t look pretty for UCLA that one of the national title contenders is coming to town, but that’s exactly what’s going to happen as the Sooners head to the Rose Bowl.

It also doesn’t bode well that the Bruins just lost for the first time to San Diego State or that the Sooners just ripped a new one in South Dakota to the tune of a 79-14 rout.

The line on this game opened at 17.5, but it quickly steamed up to -23.5 which is where it’s sitting at the moment. Oklahoma’s offense is a well-oiled machine despite losing back-to-back Heisman Trophy winners, Baker Mayfield, and Kyler Murray.

Quarterback Jalen Hurts is crushing it. Although he didn’t put up as many TDs as in his first game, Hurts was great, and put up 14 of 18 for 259 yards and three touchdowns.

Though the Bruins’ defense has been doing a reasonably decent job, this Sooners offense is too good to hope UCLA will leave this game unscathed. Notch another blowout win for Oklahoma.

Betting Trends

  • The total has gone OVER in 13 of Oklahoma's last 17 games.
  • Oklahoma is 9-1 SU in their last ten games.
  • California-Los Angeles is 1-6 SU in their last seven games.
  • California-Los Angeles is 2-6 SU in their last eight games at home.

Pick: Oklahoma -23.5

Alabama at South Carolina

  • When: September 14, 2019, 3:30 PM ET
  • Where: Williams-Brice Stadium
  • College Football Lines: Alabama -26
  • Over/Under: 60
  • Opening Moneyline: Alabama -3500 vs. South Carolina +1750

Analysis: Bama has to have a big chip on their shoulders heading into this game after being defeated by the Gamecocks 35-15 the last time they were in Columbia.

However, the Crimson Tide is favored by close to four touchdowns, and there’s no doubt in anyone’s mind that the spread isn’t merited. Bama has outscored opponents 104-13 through their first two games, and they’re just getting warmed up.

For as much as some folks might dream the Gamecocks can repeat history, the Crimson Tide looks more like an NFL team, and it’s too much of a longshot to believe this game will turn out with a different outcome than an Alabama win.

Betting Trends

  • Alabama is 1-4 ATS in their last five games.
  • The total has gone OVER in 5 of Alabama's last seven games.
  • The total has gone OVER in 4 of South Carolina's last six games against Alabama.
  • South Carolina is 5-1 SU in their last six games at home.

Pick: Alabama -26
