International Champions Cup - Manchester United vs PSG Preview

The just concluded Gold Cup had the attention of most soccer fans for the last two weeks, but now that it is over, it is time to turn our attention to the International Champions Cup, which has been going on since July 11.

The soccer fans that have tuned in have been enjoying some exciting matches between teams that usually don’t get to play each other and teams that are familiar with each other, and they are hoping that the remaining matches are just as exciting.

For those who aren’t familiar with the tournament, it is a series of international friendlies between some of the best clubs in the world.

This year, it is hosted by seven countries, and features 15 teams. Real Madrid has already been crowned the champions in Australia, but the tournament is still ongoing in China and North America.

On Wednesday, the 2014 International Champions Cup winners Manchester United, will take on French Ligue 1 winner Paris Saint-Germain, in what is expected to be a very exciting match. This will be the final match of the tournament for both teams, which means they will both be trying to wrap up their preseason tour with a win.

The Manchester United vs PSG match could also end up being a preview of a Champions League match, because both teams qualified for the tournament, and could meet if they fall in the same draw.

It might also be the last time that Manchester United Soccer fans see Angel di Maria in their colors, because he is rumored to be sold to PSG very soon, after a disappointing season at Old Trafford. PSG soccer fans will gladly welcome him with open arms, if he can return to the form he showed at Real Madrid in the 2013/2014 season.

Since this is a preseason game, don’t expect to see the starters play more than one half of the PSG vs Manchester United game, because both managers will be tinkering with their lineups, and see what some of the younger players bring to the table.

In their 3-1 win against Barcelona, the Manchester United soccer seniors started the first half, and scored one goal, but the youngsters filled in admirably in the second half, with Jesse Lingard and Adnan Januzaj scoring two goals. This time around, Louis Van Gaal will be trying to see what Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin have to offer.

With their season starting in a little over a week, PSG will try to end their preseason tour undefeated, but will face a tough challenge against Manchester United. Zlatan Ibrahimovic gave his team a 1-0 lead against Chelsea in their last game, but they couldn’t hold on to the lead, and lost the match 6-5 on penalties.

International Champions Cup odds.

Manchester United is the favorite to win this match, the money line is +112 in their favor, and +210 for PSG to win.

My Pick: The Manchester United vs PSG game is going to be a very interesting match, which will come down to who has the deepest bench. In this case, Manchester United is the team with the deepest bench, so I expect them to emerge victorious.
