The Philadelphia 76ers are a professional NBA basketball team based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The 76ers compete in the NBA as a member of the Eastern Conference, Atlantic Division. Also known as the Sixers, their name is rooted in Philadelphian Ben Franklin, the founding father who rang the ceremonial Liberty Bell in 1776. Their logo and colors, in the traditional red, white and blue scheme, include the 13 stars from the original flag made in Philadelphia by Betsy Ross.
They play their home games at the Wells Fargo Center, initially called Spectrum II, in reference to the Spectrum Arena, which it replaced in 1996. This multi-purpose indoor venue is located in South Philly, in the new Philadelphia Garden, next to the FDR Park. It is also home to the Philadelphia Flyers of the NHL and the Philadelphia Wings of the NLL.
They joined the NBA in 1946 as the Syracuse Nationals, one of the eleven teams that originated the Basketball Association of America and one of the only eight that survive from the first years of the league. The 76ers have a distinguished history, having won three NBA championships.
In such an extended period, the Sixers' fans have seen everything, from winning titles with Stars and Hall of Famers like Wilt Chamberlain, Julius Erving, and Moses Malone, to having the record for two of the lowest wins per season. Their first title came as the Syracuse Nationals in 1955. Their second Championship came under Wilt Chamberlain's leadership in 1967. Their third and latest title came in 1983, with Julius Erving and Moses Malone. After that, the 76ers could be defined as mediocre until the great Allen Iverson brought Philly back to contention, reaching the finals one more time, only to lose to the Los Angeles Lakers in 2001.
The Sixers made "tanking" famous, which was the tactic of playing purposedly with a subpar squad to obtain high draft picks. In four years, this tanking strategy produced four top-three draft picks, including Joel Embiid, which took them from constant underdogs into high-level contenders and fan favorites.
In 2020, President Daryl Morey, co-founder of the prestigious MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference, hired Doc Rivers, former All-Star player and coach of the Orlando Magic, Boston Celtics, and Los Angeles Clippers, as their new head coach. They made the Sixers first-seed in the Eastern Conference in their first year, taking the division championship for the first time in two decades.

The previous season didn't end the way the Philadelphia 76ers' intended it to. The Sixers beat the Toronto Raptors in the first round but lost in the second round to the Miami Heat in six. Several events, like Joel Embiid's face injury and James Harden's post-season meltdown, hampered their chances. Still, they have worked hard on the post-season and carry great expectations for this season. It is expected for the Sixers to have what it takes to climb over the hump of last season's disappointment.
Placing your Philadelphia 76ers bets on BetPhoenix thru the NBA basketball season can be a profitable and fun endeavor, especially if you put in some time and research.
Philadelphia 76ers Spreads
Point Spreads are a margin-of-victory bet that indicates an estimated game result. This is an example of a Philadelphia 76ers Point Spreads line:
Team Points Spread Odds
- Philadelphia 76ers -2
- Atlanta Hawks +2
In this case, the line indicates that the Philadelphia 76ers are the favorite to win by a margin of more than two points against the Atlanta Hawks. On the other side, the Hawks are the underdog and can lose by less than a two points margin.
A small spread of 4 or fewer points means that the game is expected to be a close matchup, while a large spread of 5 or more points means that the favorite is expected to perform much better than the underdog.
People betting on the 76ers point spreads expect them to win by a margin over a -2 point spread, while people betting on the underdog expect the Atlanta Hawks to lose by less than 2 points to cover the spread.
· 76ers win by three or more points: 76ers bettors win
· 76ers win by precisely 2 points: The bet is a push, and all wagers are refunded
· 76ers win by one point: Hawks bettors win
· Hawks win the game: Hawks bettors win
Philadelphia 76ers Moneylines
The Philadelphia 76ers Moneylines bet is the most straightforward option in sports betting. You simply bet on the team that you believe will win the game. There's a negative number for the favorite, or the team considered more likely to win, and there is a positive number for the underdog, or the team considered more likely to lose.
This is an example of a Philadelphia 76ers Moneyline as it would be listed in BetPhoenix:
Team Moneyline
- Philadelphia 76ers -130
- Atlanta Hawks +110
Using this example, the Philadelphia 76ers Moneyline would result as follows:
· 76ers Moneyline: If you wagered to win $100 by betting on the 76ers -130, you would need to risk $130.
· Hawks Moneyline: For every $100 wagered on the Hawks +110, you would receive $110 if Atlanta wins the game.
76ers Moneylines and 76ers point spreads use the same information to estimate the relative strength of each team for this particular matchup. The greater the 76ers Moneyline numbers indicate a greater favorite or more significant underdog.
Philadelphia 76ers Over/Under Totals
The 76ers Totals bet, or over/under bet, is a wager on the estimated combined score of the game, in which you bet on the total of points scored being higher or lower than the set value. You can bet the over, meaning you predict the score to be above the number, or the under, indicating that you expect the final score to be less than the estimate. The bet can also be a push if the final score equals exactly the estimate, in which case all bets are refunded. This is an example of a Philadelphia 76ers Totals line as it would be listed in BetPhoenix:
Philadelphia 76ers vs. Atlanta Hawks
- Total: 222.5
- Over odds: -110
- Under odds: -110
For every $1.10 risked on either option, you'd win $1.
Philadelphia 76ers Parlays
Philadelphia 76ers Parlays is a type of wager where you combine different single bets into one. This is very advantageous as the odds are increased substantially since all bets included as part of the parlay must win for the whole parlay to pay out.
You can combine different types of bets, like point spreads, moneylines, over/under totals, player props, and many other wagers. You can also choose between favorites and underdogs. Betphoenix will increase your Philadelphia 76ers Parlays odds and payout as more individual bets are added. 76ers parlays allow up to 10 single bets, including cross-sport bets, allowing you, for instance, to pair an NBA game bet with an NFL bet and a Soccer bet.
For example, we can combine the Philadelphia 76ers Point Spread of -2 and the Over of 222.5. We can add another set of plays to the 76ers parlay, like two more game spreads, the Brooklyn Nets -3.5 and the Under 220.5 against the New York Knicks, and the Oklahoma City Thunder +1.5 against the Dallas Mavericks, for a 5-team 76ers Parlay.
- 76ers Spread: -2 -110
- 76ers Totals: Over 222.5 -110
- Nets Spread: -3.5 -110
- Nets Totals: Under 220.5 -110
- Thunder Spread: +1.5 -110
This 5-team 76ers Parlay would compound payout odds of +2556, well above 25x times your bet if you wagered on each line separately. For example, risking $50 would earn you a payout of $1278.33, with these possible outcomes:
· 76ers Point Spread covers, 76ers over/under covers, and the other three lines in the parlay cover, so all bets cover: Win $1278.33
· 76ers Point Spread pushes, 76ers over/under covers, and the other three lines in the parlay cover. The push is canceled, and it becomes a 4-team parlay: Win $645.79
· 76ers Point Spread covers, 76ers over/under doesn't cover, and the other three lines in the parlay cover. Loss: -$50
· 76ers Point Spread covers, 76ers over/under covers, and any of the other three lines in the parlay fail to cover. Loss: -$50
Any lost pick within the parlay selection constitutes a loss.

Philadelphia 76ers Teasers
A teaser is a grouping of multiple bets combined into one single bet. The difference between teasers and parlays is that with teasers, the lines are moved in your favor by the number of points given by the teaser.
Philadelphia 76ers Teasers often start at 4 points and can go up to 5 points. Available Teasers on BetPhoenix include:
- 4 points Teasers for 2 to 8 Teams
- 4.5 points Teasers for 2 to 8 Teams
- 5 points Teasers for 2 to 8 Teams
- 7 points Teaser for 3 Teams
- 9 points Teaser for 4 Teams
One of the most popular Teasers is the 2-team 4-point that has the same payout as a regular -110 wager.
76ers Teasers are attractive for giving you a significant advantage with a much more favorable line, but that comes at a cost in terms of the payout opportunities.
Based on the previous example, we can tease the same picks of the parlay we made previously in a 5-point 5-team 76ers teaser would be as follows:
Original Lines vs. Teased lines (4 points in your favor)
- 76ers Spread: -2 down to +2
- 76ers Totals: Over 222.5 down to 218.5
- Nets Spread: -3.5 down to +0.5
- Nets Totals: Under 220.5 up to 224.5
- Thunder Spread: +1.5 up to +5.5
In the hypothetical case of the 76ers winning the game 110-109 (-1/219), the 76ers odds and Under failed to cover the original point spreads but would win on the 5-team 4-point Teaser, as they would cover the new +2 point spread and the Under 218.5 points.
Note that on teasers, a push is considered a loss.

Here are some of the most popular Ravens Futures Odds bets you can make before and throughout the regular season. Their current lines are:
- Philadelphia 76ers Regular Season Win Totals: 50.5
- Philadelphia 76ers odds to win the Atlantic Division: +450
- Philadelphia 76ers odds to win the Eastern Conference: +550
- Philadelphia 76ers odds to win NBA Championship: +1300
Philadelphia 76ers Odds To Win the Atlantic Division.
Philadelphia 76ers odds to win the Atlantic Division: +450
The 76ers have the second-best odds to win the Atlantic Division, only behind the Boston Celtics and minimally ahead of the Brooklyn Nets and the Toronto Raptors. This division is the most competitive and the hardest to win, reason why the odds of winning the division are similar to the odds of winning the conference, as it's usual for the Atlantic Division Champ to clinch the number one seed. This is the best squad assembled by the Sixers since the arrival of Joel Embiid. They have upgraded many positions with veteran talent and are more resilient to injuries and rest days for their top players. It's a competent team that can give the Celtics and the Nets a run for their money.
Philadelphia 76ers Odds To Win the Eastern Conference Championship.
Philadelphia 76ers odds to win the Eastern Conference: +550
As mentioned before, it is a likely case that the Atlantic Division Champion will also win the Conference title. Philadelphia is a serious contender for both, provided they can beat their division rivals, and with this upgraded team, they look good to do so. The last couple of seasons were filled with interruptions, COVID diagnosis, and Embiid injury. Right now, nothing is conditioning their success. All the momentum is in their favor.
Philadelphia 76ers Odds To NBA Championship
Philadelphia 76ers odds to win NBA Championship: +1300
The 76ers stand at the top of the second-tier favorites to win the NBA Championship, only below the Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Clippers, Brooklyn Nets, Phoenix Suns, and Denver Nuggets. Last season, Philly suffered a heartbreaking series loss to the Miami Heat with the Sixers, not at full strength. With a much better-balanced squad, and if Joel Embiid stays healthy and puts together an MVP-caliber season, they certainly have a strong chance.
Philadelphia 76ers 2021-2022 Season Recap
The 2021–22 was the 76ers' 73rd season in the NBA. The 76ers were looking to improve after their previous season's 49-23 record and repeat as a contender to win the title.
The season started with controversy as All-Star guard Ben Simmons demanded to be traded and missed training camp to pressure the team. The Sixers fined Simmons for misconduct repeatedly, which led Simmons to become the most fined player in history, with an estimated $10 million in fines. In the end, Simmons, with Seth Curry and Andre Drummond, was traded to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for All-Star guard James Harden and Paul Millsap.
After a 51-31 season, the Sixers ended second in their division, tied with the Boston Celtics, but lost the tiebreak on Divisional Record. They clinched the fourth seed and fifth consecutive playoff showing. The Sixers defeated the Raptors in the first round and lost in six games to the Miami Heat in the second round.
