Europe a Solid Favorite

Europe is about a 2-1 favorite in golf betting odds to defeat Asia in this inaugural EurAsia Cup. They have the best player on either team in Graeme McDowell and overall the Europe team is stronger. Also on the Europe team are Jamie Donaldson, Victor Dubuisson, Thomas Bjorn, Joost Luiten, Stephen Gallacher, Thorbjorn Olesen, Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano, captain Miguel Angel Jimenez and Pablo Larrazabal.

Jimenez is ready and focused to lead his team to the win. “It’s great to be here, everything looks in good shape at the golf club and I am really looking forward to the week. My mind is focused on winning the first edition of the EurAsia Cup,” said Jimenez. The Europe team is definitely loaded with talented players as all 10 players are currently in the Top 66 of the Official World Golf Rankings.

The Asian team has Kiradech Aphirbarnrat, captain Thongchai Jaidee, Hyung-Sung Kim, Anirban Lahiri, Gaganjeet Bhullar, Hideto Tanihara, Prayad Markaseng, Nicholas Fung, Koumei Oda and Siddikur Rahman.

Aphirbarnrat realizes that the Europe team has more experienced players but he believes that his team will have the advantage playing in Malaysia.

Team Europe have several players with a lot of Ryder Cup experience but Team Asia will have home ground advantage.” he said, “Our players have also become very strong over the years following the opportunities to compete in the co-sanctioned tournaments and we have many really good young and experienced players who will provide a good mix in our team.

The EurAsia Cup presented by DRB – HICOM gets underway on Thursday with five fourball matches. On Friday there will be five foursome matches and play will conclude on Saturday with ten singles matches.

Predictions

The advantage that Europe has in terms of depth should prove the difference so I will lay the price and take Team Europe.
