The 2022-2023 season will be the Minnesota Vikings' 62nd in the NFL and their first under new head coach Kevin O'Connell and general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, after firing Mike Zimmer and Rick Spielman at the end of the previous season. They will attempt to improve their 8-9 record and second place in the NFC North accomplished in the 2021-2022 season.

Historically, the Minnesota Vikings have the highest regular season, the winning percentage of any team that has not won a Super Bowl, and the records for the most playoff appearances, division titles, and winless Super Bowl attendances. Under the guidance of Bud Grant, the Vikings made the first of their four trips to the Super Bowl only in his second season as head coach. Unfortunately for Minnesota fans, each of those runs to the championship game ranging from 1969 through 1976, ended with a bitter defeat.

More recently, Minnesota has appeared in four NFC Championships from 1998 through 2017. The team also came up on the losing end of those four games. Nonetheless, the Vikings have given their fans quite a few things to cheer about over all these years.

The Minnesota Vikings' intense rivalry games against the Green Bay PackersChicago Bears, and Detroit Lions are the headline their home games at the U.S. Bank Stadium, where the team has played its home games since 2016. This 66,860 capacity, fixed-roof stadium is located in downtown Minneapolis and is informally known as The Ship.

Always known for defense, some NFL greats to wear a Vikings jersey include Carl Eller, Alan Page, and Jim Marshall. One of the team's best offensive players was running back Adrian Peterson.

The Vikings hired head coach Kevin O'Connell, former offensive coordinator for Super Bowl Champ the Los Angeles Rams. Their primary focus needs to be improving the defense, as the offensive talent level remains high. Key signings include linebacker Za'Darius Smith and Nose Tackle Harrison Phillips. The Vikings drafted safety Lewis Cine, cornerback Andrew Booth, and guard Ed Ingram. They also added some offensive depth with wide receiver Jalen Reagor, a first-round selection of the Philadelphia Eagles.

With a new offensive-minded coach, the Vikings open the 2022-2023 NFL season at home against the Green Bay Packers, a game that will set the tone for the division contenders and give everyone a better light on what to expect from the Vikings this season. Current lines have them as a slight underdog, with BetPhoenix listing the Vikings at +1. The Vikings Future Odds for Total Season Wins is listed for the season at 9.5.

How to Bet on the Minnesota Vikings

BetPhoenix.ag offers an exciting and highly lucrative way to follow and get the best Minnesota Vikings odds during the NFL season.

Placing your Minnesota Vikings bets on BetPhoenix thru the NFL football season can be a profitable and fun endeavor, particularly if you put in some time and research. This guide is just one of many helpful tools BetPhoenix offers to help you maximize your chances of winning when wagering on NFL games, from the preseason through the Super Bowl.

Minnesota Vikings Spreads

The points spread indicates the winning or losing margin. This is an example of a Minnesota Vikings Spreads line:

Team Points Spread Odds

Philadelphia Eagles -2 -110

Minnesota Vikings +2 -110

The Minnesota Vikings are a +2 underdog against the Philadelphia Eagles. That makes the Eagles a -2 favorite. A negative value indicates the favorite, and a positive value indicates an underdog. A small spread of 5 or fewer means that the match is expected to be contested.

When betting on the Minnesota Vikings spreads, in this case, +2, those who wager on the favorite, in this case, the Eagles, hope they will win by a margin of points greater than the point spread. If the spread is positive (+2), that team must win, or lose by less than two points to cover it, so to cash in on the Vikings Spread +2 as the underdog, the positive spread team must win, or lose by a margin smaller than two points to cover the spread.

  • Eagles win by 3+ points: Eagles bettors win
  • Eagles win by precisely 2 points: The bet is a push, and the wager will be canceled and refunded.
  • Eagles win by 1 point: Vikings bettors win
  • Vikings win the game: Vikings bettors win

Minnesota Vikings Moneylines

The Vikings Moneylines bet is the easiest and simplest bet in sports betting. You pick which side you expect will win the game. Negative odds are for favorites and positive for underdogs. Like the spread, a negative value indicates the favorite, and a positive value indicates an underdog. Minnesota Vikings Moneyline for a game listed in BetPhoenix is as follows:

Team Moneyline

Philadelphia Eagles -135

Minnesota Vikings +110

Moneylines use American odds based on a $100 bet. The amount you win or lose varies depending on the event because the odds are adjusted based on each team's or player's skill. The larger the Moneyline numbers indicate a bigger favorite or more significant underdog in the game. Using this example, the Minnesota Vikings Moneyline would result as follows:

  • Eagles Moneyline: If you wagered to win $100 by betting on the Eagles -135, you would need to risk $135.
  • Vikings Moneyline: For every $100 wagered on the Bears +110, you would receive $110 if Minnesota wins the game.

Minnesota Vikings Over/Under Totals

The Vikings Totals bet is an estimated projected final score based on how we envision the game will unfold from a scoring perspective. Vikings Totals are expressed in an Over/Under set, in which you pick if you expect this result to be over or under this estimate. The total points take into account both teams' scorings. The Vikings Over/Under Totals for a game listed in BetPhoenix this season is as follows:

Minnesota Vikings Over/Under vs. Philadelphia Eagles

  • Total: 50.5
  • Over odds: -110
  • Under odds: -110

For every $1.10 risked on either option, you'd win $1.

Minnesota Vikings Parlays

Vikings Parlays is a wager type in which two or more bets are linked together to form a single bet with a higher payout. However, for the bet to win, all selections must win.

Betphoenix will increase your Minnesota Vikings Parlays payout as you add more games to your parlay because winning becomes less likely as you add more teams. You can combine point spreads, moneylines, over/under, player props, and other wagers. You can choose between favorites and underdogs.

Let's say you believe the Minnesota Vikings Spread (+2) and the Under (50.5) will cover their spreads. You may add more plays to the parlay, like Vikings prop bets for the same game, for example, Vikings Passing Yards Over (225.5). You can parlay them together on a 3-team Vikings Parlay, risking $50 for a payout of about five times your bet instead of risking $50 to bet on each separately (and earning close to $250 if all three picks are winners).

  • Vikings Spread covers, Vikings Over/Under covers, and Vikings Prop bets covers. All bets cover: Win $297.90
  • Vikings Spread pushes, Vikings Over/Under covers, and Vikings Prop bets covers: The push is canceled, and it becomes a 2-team parlay: Win $132.23
  • Vikings Spread doesn't cover, Vikings Over/Under covers, and Vikings Prop bets covers: Loss ($-50)
  • Vikings Spread covers, Vikings Over/Under doesn't cover, and Vikings Prop bets covers: Loss ($-50)
  • Vikings Spread covers, Vikings Over/Under covers, and Vikings Prop bets doesn't cover: Loss ($-50)

If any of your three team Vikings parlay picks fails to cover, the entire parlay is a bust.

Minnesota Vikings Teasers

Like Parlays, Minnesota Vikings Teasers combine separate lines but adjust the point spreads to be more in your favor. Like a parlay, you need all your lines to hit in order to win your ticket; however, you can adjust the preset point spread or total lines to lower your risk.

Vikings Teasers often start at 6 points and can go up to 6.5 and 7 points. The most common Teaser is the two team 6 points that pay the same as a regular -110 wager.

However, placing a Minnesota Vikings Teasers comes at a cost. Since teasers move the line so favorably in the direction of your choice, you are minimizing risk but also minimizing payout opportunities. Based on the Vikings spread +2 and Vikings totals Over 50.5, adding another game line, like the Las Vegas Raiders -5.5 vs. the Arizona Cardinals, in a 6.5-point 3-team teaser would be as follows:

Minnesota Vikings vs. Philadelphia Eagles

  • Original Vikings spread +2 with an Over 50.5 Vikings Over/Under.
  • New adjusted like Vikings spread +8.5 with a new Over of 44 Vikings Over/Under

Arizona Cardinals vs. Las Vegas Raiders

  • Original Raiders spread -5.5.
  • New adjusted like Raiders spread +1.

The Vikings odds were originally a +2 underdog against the Eagles with a Total of 50.5. In a hypothetical case of the Vikings losing by 27-23 (+4/50), the Vikings odds and Over failed to cover the original spreads but would have covered and won with the 3-team 6.5-point Teaser; they would cover the new +8.5 point spread, and the Over 44 points.

Minnesota Vikings Prop Bets

It's fun to bet on the outcome of Vikings games, but there are other ways to get involved. NFL Prop bets are one of the most exciting and common ways to do this. A single game or the entire season can serve as the inspiration for a prop.

Vikings Prop Bets include season-long possibilities like who will have the most rushing yards, the most touchdowns, and who will be named MVP, Offensive Player of the Year, or even Super Bowl MVP.

You can access the available props for a game by clicking on the Live Lines Odds listing. There are lots of different Vikings Prop Bets options to explore and choose from, including:

  1. How many passing TDs will the Vikings QB throw? over/under 2.5
  2. Will the Vikings score a defensive TD?
  3. What will be the margin of victory for the winning side?
  • 0-7 points -110
  • 8 points or more +120

The Vikings Props bets odds can vary, and more options may be available as the season progresses. Take the time to keep checking Betphoenix.ag available props selections all year long to find what you want and get more bang for the buck on your winning bets.

These are just a few examples. NFL props can be numerous and even exceed 300 props for the Super Bowl.

Minnesota Vikings Futures Odds

You can obtain better odds and a greater chance of winning while reducing your risk by betting on futures, which allow you to choose winners and recipients of various NFL awards and honors in advance. The best odds on futures are typically found in the offseason before the regular season has even begun. This makes picking a winner for the Super Bowl or Most Valuable Player award before the season has even started all the more exciting.

Here are some of the most popular Vikings Futures Odds bets you can make before and throughout the regular season and their current lines:

• Vikings Odds to Win the NFC North Division: +225

• Vikings Odds to Win The NFC: +1300

• Vikings Odds to Win the Super Bowl: +3000

Minnesota Vikings Odds To Win the NFC North

Based on what the BetPhoenix Vikings Futures odds suggest, the Vikings are listed as the second favorite to win their division, only trailing the Green Bay Packers by a relatively narrow margin. Unless they can show some improvement, they don't look to have a chance against the Green Bay Packers, who have won the NFC North three seasons in a row and are favored to win once again. This will be rapidly determined as both teams meet in week 1.

The Vikings Odds are +225 to win the NFC North.

Minnesota Vikings Odds To Win the NFC Championship

BetPhoenix is listing the Minnesota Vikings in a very distinct 'middle of nowhere pack at +1300, along with the Arizona Cardinals at +1350, and the New Orleans Saints at +1600. The closest teams bordering each side are the Dallas Cowboys at +900, who close the top group, and the Washington Commanders at +3100, who top the longshot pack at the bottom. While the odds don't look in their favor, the Vikings are a decent longshot play if the offense continues its upward trend and turns things around on defense.

The Vikings Odds are +1300 to win the NFC Championship.

Minnesota Vikings Odds To Win the Super Bowl

Minnesota is listed at +3000 to win the Super Bowl, which ranks right above the longshots, together with the New Orleans Saints at +3300, the New England Patriots at +3500, the Washington Commanders at +6000, and Pittsburg Steelers at +7500 before dropping to the +10000 distant longshots zone.

The Vikings Super Bowl Odds are +3000. Check out our current Super Bowl Odds.

Minnesota Vikings 2021-2022 Season Recap

The Vikings finished second in the NFC North with a record of 8-9 last season, five games short of Green Bay for the division crown and one game behind Philadelphia for the final Wild Card spot in the conference. This was the third time the Minnesota Vikings have missed the playoffs since acquiring QB Kirk Cousins four years ago.

Minnesota's offense isn't the problem. The Vikings ranked 13th in points per game with 25 PPG and 10th in total yardage with 363 YPG, with impressive victories over the Green Bay Packers (34-31), Los Angeles Chargers (27-20), and Pittsburg Steelers (36-28) throughout the year.

However, their defense didn't pull its weight; finishing ranked 24th in points allowed with 25.1 PPG and 30th in total yardage with 384 YPG, leading to losses in four matchups in which the offense generated 26 or more points. Such imbalances make Minnesota an intriguing play.
