The 2022-2023 season will be the Atlanta Falcons 57th in the NFL, their second under head coach Arthur Smith. The Falcons' current home field is the spectacular Mercedes-Benz Stadium, crowned by its signature "pinwheel" translucent retractable roof, which opened for the 2017 season. The team's headquarters and facilities are located at a 50-acre site by Lake Lanier in Flowery Branch, Hall County, northeast of the City of Atlanta.

After finishing dead last in the NFC South with a record of 4-12 in the 2020-2021 season, the Falcons continued to trust long-time quarterback Matt Ryan last season, with a comparative improvement of finishing 7-10 but still falling short of their playoffs goal.

Former Tennessee Titans and Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Marcus Mariota will take over for veteran quarterback Matt Ryan, traded to the Indianapolis Colts. When Mariota was a member of the Titans, Arthur Smith served as both his tight ends coach and offensive coordinator.

Atlanta's offense will look completely different this season, as not only will they have a new face in the center, but they also parted ways with Wide Receiver Russell Gage and Tight End Hayden Hurst. On top of that, Star wide receiver Calvin Ridley will serve a year-long suspension due to gambling violations. They could become a team to watch if Marcus Mariota and a good number of young players, like rookie Desmond Ridder, Kyle Pitts, and Drake London lead the way.

Despite their 7-10 record from last season and all of these unknowns, they are listed for 4.5 wins in BetPhoenix's Future Betting Odds for Wins in the Regular Season, which are hardly noteworthy expectations.

The Falcons looked like one of the best bottom-tier teams in the league last season, partly due to the benevolent calendar. During the previous campaign, they mainly met with similarly ranked matchups, like their victories over the New York GiantsNew York JetsJacksonville JaguarsDetroit Lions, Carolina Panthers, and Miami Dolphins.

This season's schedule is much less favorable, with the Carolina Panthers being the only rival from that previous list that is on their list this year, thanks to division schedules. Last year's more winnable matchups are now replaced by a list of much less accessible opponents, like the Minnesota Vikings, Cincinnati BengalsLas Vegas RaidersPittsburg Steelers, and even the Los Angeles Rams.

It appears this could be a challenging year for the Falcons as they move towards the back of the list in terms of Super Bowl odds.

How to Bet on the Atlanta Falcons

BetPhoenix.ag offers an exciting and highly lucrative way to follow and get the best Atlanta Falcons odds during the NFL season.

Placing your Atlanta Falcons bets on BetPhoenix thru the NFL football season can be a profitable and fun endeavor, particularly if you put in some time and research. This guide is just one of many helpful tools BetPhoenix offers to help you maximize your chances of winning when wagering on NFL games, from the preseason through the Super Bowl.

Atlanta Falcons Spreads

The points spread indicates the winning or losing margin. Here is an example of an Atlanta Falcons Spreads line:

Team Points Spread Odds

New Orleans Saints -5.5 -110

Atlanta Falcons +5.5 -110

The Falcons spread is a +5.5 underdog against the Saints. That makes the New Orleans Saints a -5.5 favorite underdog. A negative value indicates the favorite, and a positive value indicates an underdog.

When betting on the Falcons spreads, +5.5 in this case, those who wager on them as the underdog are hoping they win or lose by a margin smaller than the point spread.

  • Saints win by six or more points: Saints bettors win
  • Saints win by five or fewer points: Falcons bettors win.
  • Falcons win the game: Falcons bettors win.

A small spread of 5.5 or fewer points means that the game is expected to be a close matchup, while a large spread of 6+ points means that the favorite is expected to perform much better than the underdog. If the spread is negative (-6.5), that team must win by more than 6 points to cover it. On the other hand, for the underdogs, the spread is positive (+), meaning the team must either win or lose by less than the posted spread.

Atlanta Falcons Moneyline

The Falcons Moneylines bet is the easiest and simplest bet in sports betting. You pick which side you expect will win the game. Negative odds are for favorites and positive for underdogs. Like the spread, a negative value indicates the favorite, and a positive value indicates an underdog. The Falcons Moneyline for the first game of the season is listed in BetPhoenix as follows:

Team Moneyline

New Orleans Saints -240

Atlanta Falcons +200

Moneylines use American odds based on a $100 bet. The amount you win or lose varies depending on the event because the odds are adjusted based on each team's or player's skill. The larger the Moneyline numbers indicate a bigger favorite or more significant underdog in the game. Using this example, the Falcons Moneyline would result as follows:

  • Saints Moneyline: If you wagered to win $100 by betting on the New Orleans Saints -240, you would need to risk $300.
  • Falcons Moneyline: For every $100 wagered on the Atlanta Falcons +200, you would receive $200 if the Falcons win the game.

Atlanta Falcons Over/Under Totals

The Totals bet is an estimated projected final score based on how we envision the game will unfold from a scoring perspective. Falcons Totals are expressed in an Over/Under set, in which you pick if you expect this result to be over or under this estimate. The total points take into account both teams' scorings. TheFalcons Over/Under Totals for the first game of the season are listed in BetPhoenix as follows:

Atlanta Falcons vs. New Orleans Saints Over/Under

  • Total: 42.5
  • Over odds: -110
  • Under odds: -110

For every $1.10 risked on either the over or the under, you'd win $1.

Atlanta Falcons Parlays

Atlanta Falcons Parlays is a wager type in which two or more bets are linked together to form a single wager with a higher payout. However, for the wager to win, all selections must win.

Betphoenix will increase your Atlanta Falcons Parlays payout as you add more games to your parlay because winning becomes less likely as you add more teams. You can combine point spreads, moneylines, over/under, player props, and other wagers. You can choose between favorites and underdogs.

Using this example, a three lines Atlanta Falcons Parlay could be set as follows:

Let's say you want to combine the Falcons Spread (-5.5) and the Over (42.5). You also want to add a second game, including the Denver Broncos (-7) vs. the Seattle Seahawks, for a 3-team parlay risking $25. The payout of this parlay would be about eleven times your bet instead of risking $25 to bet on each separately (and earning close to $125 if all three picks are winners).

  • All bets cover: Win $148.95
  • Falcons Spread covers, the over covers, and the Broncos spread doesn't cover: Loss ($-25)
  • Falcons Spread covers, the over doesn't cover, and the Broncos spread covers: Loss ($-25)
  • Falcons Spread doesn't cover, the over covers, and the Broncos spread covers: Loss ($-25)

All bets on the parlay need to cover for the Rams Parlay to be a winner.

Atlanta Falcons Teasers

Like Parlays, Falcons Teasers combine separate lines but adjust the point spreads to be more in your favor. Like a parlay, you need all your lines to hit in order to win your ticket; however, you can adjust the preset point spread or total lines to lower your risk level.

Atlanta Falcons Teasers often start at 6 points and can go up to 6.5 and 7 points. The most common Teaser is the two team 6 points that pay the same as a regular -110 wager.

However, placing a Falcons Teaser comes at a cost. Since teasers move the line so favorably in the direction of your choice, you are minimizing risk but also minimizing payout opportunities. Based on the Falcons Teaser +5.5 and Falcons total over 42.5, a 7-point 2-team teaser would be as follows:

Atlanta Falcons vs. New Orleans Saints

  • Original Falcons spread +5.5 with a 42.5 Falcons Over/Under
  • New adjusted with 7 points like Falcons spread +12.5 with a new 49.5 line selecting the over in the Falcons Totals.

The Falcons odds were originally a +5.5 point underdog against the Saints, with a total of 42.5. In a hypothetical case of the Saints winning by 7 points 27-20 (47 total), the Falcons spread and over failed to cover the original lines but would have covered and won with the 2-team 7-point Teaser; as they would cover the new +12.5 point spread and 49.5 points over.

Atlanta Falcons Odds To Win the NFC Championship

Atlanta Falcons 2021-2022 Season Recap

The 2021-2022 was their first season under head coach Arthur Smith and general manager Terry Fontenot. Star wide receiver Julio Jones was not on the roster for the first time since 2010. He was traded to the Titans, leaving Atlanta holding the records for most career receiving yards and receptions in the Atlanta Falcons' franchise history. It was also the final season for veteran quarterback Matt Ryan, who was traded to the Indianapolis Colts for the following season.

After their Week 12 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Falcons improved their 4–12 record for the previous season. However, the Falcons missed the playoffs for the fourth consecutive year after losing in Week 17 to the Buffalo Bills.

Historically, in their 55 years in the NFL, the Falcons have a record of 379–487–6, of which 369–473–6 are regular season games, and 10–14 are in playoff games. They won division championships in 1980, 1998, 2004, 2010, 2012, and 2016. They have reached the Super Bowl twice, the first in 1998 for Super Bowl XXXIII, where they lost to John Elway's Denver Broncos, and the second 18 years later for Super Bowl LI, where they lost to Tom Brady's New England Patriots.
